screws in his ankle were loose''

No doubt the club went cheap on the surgery, can see them giving the local doctor who been struck off years ago cash in hand to sort it then he would turned up drunk to check on it every 2 months.

Then it was off training every day with Mr Dicks .

Re: Andy Carroll "fed up with crock jokes"
Probably fair enough, Jibbers, but if I'm honest I don't really know enough about the medical side of things to comment. Does having a few beers when you're 6 weeks into a 3 month recovery prolong your recovery time? I'm sure it does, but I also don't think it's anything like as damaging as people make it out to be. Training differently, doing different routines in the gym etc would I guess probably help but again I can't really comment as I find that side of things intensely dull and it only seems to have mattered in the last 10 years.
He's our 5th top league goalscorer in the last 30 years so in the grand scheme of West Ham United shit houses, he doesn't even register for me.... although that probably says more about the shit we've had than anything else

Re: Andy Carroll "fed up with crock jokes"
Having spent most of the last 12 months incapacitated through injury I can empathise with him. Mentally it’s tough when all you want to do is the one thing in life you’re good at but you can’t.

Thing is, 90k a week would certainly ease the pain but when you’re loaded anyway I suppose money becomes abstract

but a scan revealed that the screws in his ankle were loose. Surgery was required, again''

Good to hear that to go along side the Micky mouse training ground and trainers (J D & S.P ) we had in the pass the checking up on major surgery on players was at the same time at a high standard expected at a top professional football club.

He should sue the arse of the club .

Re: Andy Carroll "fed up with crock jokes"
Regardless of whether he is 'obsessed' with football or not, seeing as he is on about 90 bags a week, it seems like it's not the most outlandish thing to expect him to do everything in his powers to be fit for a consistent period of time.

The fact he hasn't over the years, and is now crying about everyone mentioning it, seems a bit... CHEEKY?

Six years of him. Seven come next summer.

Dear fucking Lord.

Total waste of fucking money.

At least half of that time he's spent out injured.

Re: Andy Carroll "fed up with crock jokes"
Stupid saying anything at all really - if he'd said he didn't care about it people would be on his case as well, so would have been better swerving the question.

Fwiw, bolty is probably defending him because he's a good bloke. Carroll, not bolty, bolty is a cunt.

When they were in loughton Carroll was known for being a good lad, would talk to anyone, never gave it the big un and always approachable. He was also far less of a pisshead than Nolan, who could also be the exact opposite of all of the things Carroll is above.

Truth is, as BELLERS rightly says, he just isn't that interested in football, he is just an ordinary geezer whk happens to be good at it. Players nowadays tend to be obsessive about it, to the point of being boring robots. Sadly, that sort of attitude and lack of interest just doesn't really cut it in the modern game.
Still, our record with him in the side is infinitely better than without him, so he probably still has some sort of role to play - but it's testament to pellegrini and the rest of the squad that for the first time it feels like we've moved past Carroll and no longer have to wait for him to come back.

Re: Andy Carroll "fed up with crock jokes"
He claims he is motivated to succeed but that is the big doubt about him. I'd like to know what he's been doing all these months when he's been injured to prepare himself for his life after football. I suspect zilch: he's probably just been counting what's in his bank account.

Soldo and I called this years ago. Should never have been made permanent.

I have got zero fucks to give about him.

He has been nothing but trouble since day one and for all his moaning he was pretty bloody quick about trying to move to Chelsea in January.

He’s injury prone as he didntvlook after himself after previous injuries. Out on the piss what he should have been resting up.

Re: Andy Carroll "fed up with crock jokes"
Bellamy offered a fascinating insight into Carroll but said he lacks the professionalism and dedication to succeed at an elite club like Chelsea and called his character into question.

"In general play he's very difficult to link with, doesn't see the game," Bellamy told The Debate.

"My conversations with Andy, and I do like him, but I don't believe you work hard enough in the week to be the player you want to become. And I never seen an inch of that.

"Like with Jordan Henderson, he was going through a difficult period at that time as well but with Jordan you just seen him train, train, train, keep improving, keep improving, going to the gym, he worked and I remember saying to Jordan 'You will be a top player, I know it just by your attitude and the ability you've got, it will turn' - I never thought that was going to be the case with Andy.

"If he went to the gym and he felt a little bit stiff then he felt 'Well I don't want to go to the gym anymore I don't like the soreness' and I just felt that pain barrier sometimes you need to go through as a player - and I'm not talking about injuries or anything like that - is some of his injuries part of where he doesn't look after himself enough, I feel that's always the case with Andy and I just felt with him he just doesn't have the mentality or the drive to be a top player."

Not just EVERY manager he has worked under, but a player that has played with him giving an honest assessment.

Bolty has defended him because Carroll mentioned 'being down', and I know we have to be careful with that sort of thing, but Carroll just comes across as someone with no fucking idea about what real graft and real problems are, and is whinging and feeling sorry for himself.

If he was genuinely depressed, fair enough, but this sums up someone who is so self absorbed it's ridiculous...

'I honestly don't know what I've done in my life to get the s*** I get,'

I mean, fucking hell.
